The ceiling was decorated with the 10 reincarnations of Vishnu, the main Hindu god. Here are the pictures of his 9th reincarnation, Shivva, and the 10th.
After visiting this temple, we proceeded to Little India where we shopped in the arcade for a little while before visiting the last two temples. While there I couldn't resist getting some Henna done.
The first temple we visited in Little India was Sri Veeramakaliamman Temple.

As most Hindu temples, this temple is adorned with many minor Hindu deities.
This temple is also one of the older temples in Singapore. During WWII many people took refuge in the temple from Japanese bombings and survived as a result.
Inside the temple there are many shrines of different deities...

Unfortunately, while we were at this temple it began to rain. When the rain slacked off we made our way down the street to the last temple, Sri Srinivasa Perumal Temple.
We arrived just in time for the evening prayer ceremony. Many people had gathered for this ceremony.
Several musicians assembled to accompany the service...

If I can, I hope to upload the video I took of the ceremony. I'll keep you posted on its progress...
After the tour we ate a vegetarian dinner. It was good, but for those of you who really know me you know I could never become a vegetarian!
Lots of Love,
Sarah
